Eric Strenger has over ten years of experience in design, illustration and arts education.

Raised just outside Los Angeles, he first started drawing and painting as a high school student in California, teaching art skills to teenagers who had been convicted of graffiti and tagging. This led him to the Academy of Art college, where he studied illustration and earned a BFA in 1999.

After graduating, he made two calendars of hip-hop personalities to promote his skills as an Illustrator. The calendars raised his profile and led to feature illustrations for several publications and brands, including Def Jam, Playboy, Ecko Unltd. and a four page spread in Fader Magazine. He then attended the Claremont Graduate School, where he received his MFA in Studio Art in 2002.

While at Claremont, Eric also taught drawing and painting to incarcerated  men in at California’s Institution for Men in Chino. He moved back to San Francisco and spent five years, teaching drawing and painting to public school students from K-12, as well as Juvenile Offenders -- while continuing a successful freelance career.

Eric has won numerous awards from the San Francisco and New York Societies of Illustrators, and his original paintings are in the collections of Marc Ecko, Def Jam records, and Playboy. He also designed and painted the mural for the film, “Barbershop”.

Eric currently lives in San Francisco CA., working freelance as a web designer and offers both private and group art lessons to children and adults.
